Obituary for Donald Eugene Jubb

Donald Eugene Jubb, LCDR, United States Navy, Retired, 91, of Sardis, MS passed away on Friday, September 6, 2019, at his home in Sardis, MS.

Commander Jubb was born on May 21, 1928 in Yankeetown, FL to The Late Alvina Krueger Jubb and George F. Jubb. He earned his Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Vanderbilt University in 1951 where he was a part of Sigma Nu and president of the Anchor and Chain. He continued his education at Ole Miss where he earned his Master of Business Administration in 1957. Mr. Jubb served as a deacon at Graham Memorial Presbyterian Church in Coronado, CA and at Sardis Presbyterian Church in Sardis, MS. He was a former president of the Sardis Rotary Club and a Paul Harris Fellow. Commander Jubb proudly served his country in the United States Navy where he earned 12 personal decorations including a bronze star with 2 combat V's before retiring at the rank of Lieutenant Commander in 1971.

Left behind to cherish his memory is his loving family which includes his wife of 64 years, Carolyn Jubb of Sardis, MS; three daughters, Sally Jubb of New Orleans, LA, Dr. Jennifer Jubb - Young of Florence, AL, and Leslie Jubb Laudo of Dallas, TX; a special granddaughter, Elizabeth Tucker of Seattle, WA; three other grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, and one brother.

A memorial service celebrating Commander Jubb's life will be held on Sunday, September 8, 2019, at 2 pm in the Sardis United Methodist Church with Rev. David Laird officiating. Interment will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery with military honors. The family will receive friends in the church on Sunday from 1 pm - 2 pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Sardis United Methodist Church or to a veteran's group of the donor's choice.
